What curriculum does TGI offer?
The Guardian Institute offers an islamized version of the CAPS curriculum, developed and vetted by an experienced team of educators and islamic scholars to ensure the highest possible standard of quality. Also offered is a standalone quranic arabic course suited to all phases and ages, where students can learn to read and understand the Quran in the language it was revealed in.
Who are the developers of the Islamised curriculum?
The developers of the curriculum are subject experts who have been assisted by experienced Muslim scholars to Islamise the CAPS curriculum.
What is the Language of Learning and Teaching (LoLT) of the Curriculum?
The LoLT of the curriculum is English.
How exam prepared will learners be?
Learners who follow TGI’s Islamised curriculum will be equally prepared to write any externally set assessments and examinations.
What is different about your curriculum compared to what's already available?
Our curriculum, unlike most others, was developed with Islamic principles (as found in the holy Quraan and authentic sunnah of the prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)) as its driving factors as a response to an ever changing and increasingly complex educational landscape across the world. Due to this, all elements of the existing CAPS curriculum which had any ideas contrary to our principles were removed and replaced with appropriate content or expanded upon in detail from the islamic perspective where simply removing it was not an option. As a result, we have been able to achieve a verion of the curriculum which teaches students in a holistic manner, where islam and education go hand in hand instead of being segregated and existing in seperate environments which can cause confusion and negative effects on our youth.

Home school providers, all Muslim schools and Muslim organizations wanting to offer an Islamised curriculum.
What guidelines are provided for all Muslim institutions and subject teachers?
A Learner Book and Teacher Guide for all grades.
Does the curriculum include assessments?
Yes, the curriculum includes formative assessments as stipulated by the Department of Basic Education (DBE).
Can I get printed versions of the course material?
Yes! Printed copies are available either in black and white or full colour and can be delivered to you for a minimal fee.
